Hi there. this is my first actual blog post so bare with me guys. My name is Darrice , I have a one year old daughter named Haven and I am a single mom from Cleveland Ohio. Let me just tell you, being a single mom is no walk in the park. I’ll go into how i became a single mom in another post because that is a story in itself but lets just say, i chose the journey that i am on. In this post i wanted to just point out ways that you can still have a knack for luxury while being a single mom.

  1. Don’t get so caught up in what others think, you work hard for what you have and if you want to indulge in luxury items every now and again then don’t feel bad. you deserve it.
  2. Don’t sleep on resale sites. buying preloved luxury items have been my main source of collecting the luxury items that i drool over, and what makes it even better, you can get them in an affordable cost.
  3. Save for what you want, if you have a particular handbag that you have been eyeing, put money aside when you can because you will be dissatisfied if you get something else that isn’t exactly what you wanted at the expense of trying to be cost effective. Trust me i am speaking from experience.
  4. If you have items in your closet that you are no longer wearing, sale those items to get money to go toward that luxury purchase. Some people will even trade you for some items if you are already a luxe lover. Some of the sites that i use to sale are fashionphile if its luxury, poshmark for just about everything and store 5A just to name a few. just google cause there are plenty of other luxury resale sites. you can even go to your local resale stores if you don’t want to go the online route and some of my favorites for that is platos closet and avalon exchange.
  5. Do you boo, don’t let any single mom stereotypes get in the way of you liking what you like. I made that mistake as well, i felt that i would be judged for being a single mom and liking nice things. I’m here to let you know that people will have something to say regardless, so do what makes you happy because that’s all that matters when its all said and done.
